Coalition members from Washington State participated in a meeting with Rep. Dan Newhouse during his “Senior Symposium” in February. The meeting spurred a lively conversation between Rep. Newhouse, his staff, and our Coalition members about the expansive benefits and low costs of Medicare Advantage coverage.

One Coalition member, Madelyn, discussed her work as leader of a local non-profit, where she interacts with a lot of Americans covered by Medicare Advantage and has been exposed to the program’s positive impact on their lives. She says that being able to choose a Medicare Advantage plan is “critical for fixed income individuals.”

Rep. Newhouse assured Coalition members that he supports the Medicare Advantage program, pointing to his intent to help expand the program so that Americans in his district “have as many health care choices as possible.”

The Coalition for Medicare Choices is grateful for supporters of the program like Rep. Newhouse. It is encouraging to Americans on Medicare Advantage across the country to see lawmakers in Washington, D.C. demonstrating such strong commitment to the program.
