Iowa Coalition members Mary Jo and Ken advocated for Medicare Advantage on phone calls with Sen. Chuck Grassley and Sen. Joni Ernst. Their conversations largely focused on the financial stability and additional benefits like free fitness programs they receive through their Medicare Advantage plans.

Mary Jo, a self-described “workout freak,” talked about how she is able to exercise daily with her husband. They both have free access to a gym and SilverSneakers classes thanks to their Medicare Advantage plans.

Additionally, Ken noted that he and his wife pay $0 in monthly premiums, and enjoy a wide variety of benefits. They are still working well into retirement age and remain thankful that their Medicare Advantage keeps them active and healthy.

Both Sen. Ernst and Sen. Grassley expressed their commitment to supporting the Medicare Advantage program and noted that they are working together with their colleagues in the U.S. Senate to make sure the program continues supporting Americans 65+. The Coalition for Medicare Choices is very thankful that these U.S. Senators took the time to speak with our Coalition members to discuss the importance of Medicare Advantage, and for their continued support.
