In late January, Coalition members, Marian and Fred Krumberger shared why they love their Medicare Advantage plan with congressional staff. They traveled all the way from Suamico, WI to Washington, DC to speak about the stable health care they receive through Medicare Advantage on Capitol Hill.

Every year Marian and Fred evaluate their health care needs and time and time again they see better value from Medicare Advantage. For them, this value includes:

  • Low premiums and out-of-pocket costs
  • Access to all their favorite doctors
  • Dental, vision, and hearing coverage

With all this flexibility, Fred and Marian feel that Medicare Advantage delivers a plan that best meets their needs, budget, and lifestyle. In fact, in their zip code alone, 35 different Medicare Advantage programs from 7 insurance companies are available to them. This makes them feel confident that they will find something that’s just right for them.

Marian shared how she enjoys the preventive care and convenience their plan delivers. Carrying one card, which she can use for all her health care service’s needs, give her peace of mind. “I don’t need to worry.”

Additionally, Fred shared that their preventive care is important to him. Last year, his doctor identified that Fred had a lesion. Had it gone unnoticed, it would have presented a more serious and expensive problem down the road. He also shared that he’s appreciated that the free exercise programs he participates in through his Medicare Advantage plan have helped him to stay flexible. Fred says he advanced to a “granddad bod”, from a “dad bod.”

Marian and Fred are a testament to Medicare Advantage’s value to Americans, and we appreciate them for sharing their story in Washington, DC. The Krumbergers were also able to meet their Member of Congress, Rep. Mike Gallagher while in town. They had a wonderful time and look forward to more opportunities to protect Medicare Advantage.
