Coalition Members Meet Virtually with Representative Lawrence

Six Michigan members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) recently met with Representative Brenda Lawrence (D-MI-14) to discuss the high-quality, affordable care they receive through Medicare Advantage.

Coalition member Katherine explained that she is very familiar with Medicare Advantage and loves that it covers transportation to and from her doctors’ appointments. She added that having a sole point of contact for coordinating her health care needs through Medicare Advantage has made a time consuming and confusing process much more streamlined.

Carolyn and Marjorie told the group that Medicare Advantage has been very easy to use and allowed them to stay with their preferred health care providers.

Noreen and Shirley added that some of their favorite Medicare Advantage benefits have been transportation and the ease of communicating with their Medicare Advantage plan. They also noted that their Medicare Advantage coverage offers different rebates and wellness incentives which they have appreciated.

Therese, another Coalition member, shared that she and several others on Medicare Advantage liked that Medicare Advantage coverage has allowed them to stay with their health care providers and benefit from various wellness programming perks in the area.

Representative Lawrence offered a few closing remarks to the group. She reiterated her support for Medicare Advantage and explained how the program works. She went on to say that many of her constituents appreciate the option to enroll in Medicare Advantage, and concluded by saying, “I will continue to advocate that my constituents have options like Medicare Advantage for their health care coverage.”

The CMC is grateful to Representative Lawrence for meeting with our Coalition members and for her support of Medicare Advantage.
