Coalition Members Meet with the Office of Representative Clarke

Two members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) recently spoke with the office of Representative Yvette Clarke (D-NY-09) during a virtual meeting. They shared their experiences with the better services, better access to care, and better value Medicare Advantage provides to seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Coalition member Dan worked in Washington, D.C., for 37 years and said he’s been thrilled with his Medicare Advantage coverage.  As a disabled Vietnam veteran, Dan said the benefits of Medicare Advantage have been important to him. He expressed his appreciation for the variety of services available to address a range of health needs.

Laura, another Coalition member, said the benefits Medicare Advantage provides have been essential to maintaining her health, especially as a cancer survivor. Laura relies on annual testing and screenings to ensure her health is in check and said she appreciates the preventive focus of Medicare Advantage. During the pandemic, the telehealth services were particularly important, and Laura said she was glad her coverage continued uninterrupted.

Representative Clarke’s staff member thanked everyone for joining and sharing their stories, noting that their sentiments would be shared with Representative Clarke and that she would continue supporting Medicare Advantage.

The CMC is grateful to the office of Representative Clarke for meeting with our Coalition members and for her continued support of Medicare Advantage.
