Coalition Members Virtually Meet with Representative Brendan Boyle’s Office

August 30, 2021

2 members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) recently met with the office of Representative Brendan Boyle to share with the office how their Medicare Advantage plans have provided them with better services, better access to care, and better value.

Coalition member Connor told the group that since switching to Medicare Advantage from traditional Medicare, he has received more benefits. These additional benefits included his hearing aids, eyeglasses, and a free gym membership. He said he also likes having a health plan that covers his prescription medication as little to no cost, which is important for Americans 65+ like him who live on a fixed monthly income.

Coalition member Danielle echoed Connor’s remarks on the importance of a health care plan that Americans 65+ can afford, telling the group that her out-of-pocket costs are minimal. She also emphasized the importance of choices in health care, saying that once she switched from traditional Medicare to Medicare Advantage, she was able to access more doctors. Danielle also spoke about the importance of audio-only telehealth, especially for Americans 65+ who can’t get to the doctor and lack broadband internet.

The CMC is grateful to the office of Representative Boyle for meeting with our Pennsylvania Coalition members and hearing their stories about how Medicare Advantage helps them save money while also providing them choices.
