Coalition Members Virtually Meet with Senator Bill Hagerty’s Staff

members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices from Tennessee recently met with staff from Senator Bill Hagerty’s office to share their experiences with Medicare AdvantageCoalition members told the SenatorState Director that Medicare Advantage provides them with affordable health care that takes care of all their needs, while also offering them peace of mind. They also shared how Medicare Advantage plans stepped up during the COVID-19 crisis to ensure that Americans 65+ are still able to access care. 

Coalition member Dave told the group that prior to retiring, he looked into his options, and found that Medicare Advantage offered him the best value. Dave’s Medicare Advantage plan not only provides him with reliable prescription drug coveragedental and vision coverage, but  it also delivers free health and wellness benefits that have helped keep him healthy. He also shared that Medicare Advantage helps him to control his budget and delivers savings for American taxpayers because the government spends less for someone on Medicare Advantage than traditional Medicare. 

Coalition member Becky told the Senator’s office that she also loves the cost savings her Medicare Advantage plan provides including a monthly allowance that covers the cost of her vitamins. Like Dave, she also enjoys the health and wellness benefits the program delivers. 

Coalition members Becky and Lynn both shared that Medicare Advantage has also expanded telehealth services during the COVID-19 crisis. Telehealth allows members to see their doctors from the safety of her home without the threat of being exposed to COVID-19. Becky and Lynn encouraged Senator Hagerty to support S. 150, the Ensuring Parity in MA for Audio-Only Telehealth Actwhich will ensure Americans 65+ can continue to connect with their doctors through audio-only telehealth services over the phone 

Coalition member Sam echoed Dave and Becky’s comments on Medicare Advantage’s commitment to delivering affordable care and expanded telehealth servicesSam shared that he recently had cataract surgery and his Medicare Advantage plan fully covered the cost of the surgery.
