Coalition Members Virtually Meet with Senator Rob Portman’s Office

4 members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) recently met with staff from Senator Rob Portman’s office to share with the office how Medicare Advantage keeps Americans 65+ healthy by placing a strong emphasis on preventative care. Coalition members also spoke about the importance of telehealth, including audio-only telehealth.

Coalition member Carol shared that she is extremely pleased with her Medicare Advantage plan’s focus on preventative care, and described how her plan rewards her when she focuses on her health. She also spoke about the importance of health care that is offered to Americans 65+ at low cost – Carol explained that that her Medicare Advantage plan fully covers the cost of her annual wellness visit.

Coalition members Kelly and Dustin shared that they support Medicare Advantage because it provides Americans 65+ with have high-quality, affordable, health coverage. They emphasized Carol’s comments about the importance of preventative benefits, telling the group that they continue to hear about how Medicare Advantage plans have kept seniors healthy.

Another Coalition member Kevin spoke about telehealth, and how it has helped seniors stay safe and healthy at home while socially isolating. He spoke about audio-only telehealth, and the role of audio-only telehealth services for people who lack broadband internet or advanced technology, and urged Senator Portman to co-sponsor the Ensuring Parity in MA for Audio-Only Telehealth Act (S. 150).
