Letter to the Editor: Fishers man supports Sen. Todd Young

May 21, 2020

Medicare Advantage programs are working to ensure that seniors can still see their doctors through virtual care.

Dear Editor,

For the past two years, I’ve depended on my Medicare Advantage program for my health care needs. Regardless of the health issue at hand, my Medicare Advantage plan has kept me covered at an affordable rate, which for many seniors who live on limited budgets, is very important.

Though leaving the house has been a challenge for many seniors because of the COVID-19 crisis, Medicare Advantage programs are working to ensure that seniors can still see their doctors through virtual care. The plans are even offering prescription delivery services, so seniors don’t have to leave the house to pick up their medications. Additionally, the program is covering the cost of testing related to COVID-19, and many plans are also covering the cost of treatment as well, offering immense value to those whose health has been compromised by coronavirus.

Senator Todd Young recognizes the value that the Medicare Advantage program offers the more than 444,000 Hoosiers who utilize the program for their health care needs, and I am grateful for his support. All members of Congress should support health care options that offer seniors great care at low out-of-pocket costs.

Best,

Roger Ashley
