Nevadans like Medicare Advantage and Rep. Steven Horsford Wants to Protect it

April 17, 2019

Rep. Horsford welcomed us to his district office and shares his commitment to providing Americans with better services, better care, and better value through Medicare Advantage.

To welcome the spring season, we flew to Nevada to meet with Rep. Steven Horsford (NV-04) and other health care leaders for a brief roundtable discussion. Rep. Horsford welcomed us to his district office, where he kicked off our discussion by sharing his commitment to providing Americans with better services, better care, and better value through Medicare Advantage.

We laid out how Nevadan’s are satisfied with the coverage they receive through Medicare Advantage. 19 out of 20 older Americans in the southern Nevada region choose Medicare Advantage because of the additional benefits and services.

Rep. Horsford was thrilled to hear of about the high satisfaction his constituents have for the program but shared his concerned about the rural residences who face challenges to access health services.

In response, we told Rep. Horsford not to worry. Even more health plans, including Centene, will be joining the MA market in 2020 and will help rural communities have better access to care.

Before our discussion ended, Rep. Horsford expressed his interest in working together to bring better care to Nevadans.

Thank you, Rep. Horsford!
