Medicare Advantage Polling Report
DECEMBER 18, 2018
Nearly 22 million seniors choose Medicare Advantage – that’s more than 30 percent of all Medicare beneficiaries. Medicare Advantage provides seniors the opportunity to choose the coverage that’s right for them, with expanded benefits like capped out-of-pocket costs and prescription drug coverage.
We worked with Morning Consult to talk to thousands of seniors with both traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage. We found seniors with Medicare Advantage are far more satisfied with their coverage than those on traditional Medicare (90% v. 76%), and a whopping 95% of Medicare Advantage beneficiaries would recommend it to their families and friends.
What’s more, a vast majority of all seniors (82%) say Congress should preserve funding for Medicare Advantage – and 70% even say funding should rise to match increasing healthcare costs. And they’re watching Washington: 73% are more likely to vote for their Member of Congress if they support funding for Medicare Advantage
The choice is clear: Medicare Advantage provides better services, better care, and better value.
