Strengthening Medicare Advantage for More Than 28 Million Americans
February 8, 2022
Every year Medicare Advantage enrollment increases as more seniors and individuals with disabilities choose the better services, better access to care, and better value the program provides. Today, 28.2 million Americans choose Medicare Advantage for high-quality, affordable, and comprehensive health coverage.
This milestone is a testament to the popularity of the program and the consistent satisfaction Medicare Advantage delivers for its members. In fact, 93% of senior voters with Medicare Advantage are satisfied with their coverage, and nearly all (96%) would recommend Medicare Advantage to their family and friends.
As the Administration continues its 2022 Rate Notice process, members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) are mobilizing across the country. CMC members are sharing their Medicare Advantage experiences with their Members of Congress, submitting letters to the editors of their local newspapers, and raising their voices about the importance of protecting and strengthening this essential program.
Recently CMC members have had the following letters published in their local newspapers:
Central Maine: “Medicare Advantage A Lifeline For Seniors“
The Modesto Bee: “Love That Medicare Advantage“
Denver Herald: “Protect Medicare Program“
Medicare Advantage ensures that Americans across the country can access high-quality health care services and benefits at an affordable price. That includes additional benefits that original Medicare doesn’t cover, such as integrated vision, hearing, and dental benefits; a cap on out-of-pocket costs; transportation to medical appointments; and comprehensive prescription drug coverage. Medicare Advantage helps members stay healthy through preventive care measures, access to educational resources, and innovative health care options like telehealth services.
These are just some of the many reasons that Medicare Advantage has strong bipartisan support among policymakers. We look forward to continuing to engage lawmakers in 2022 and sharing individual stories about the positive impact of Medicare Advantage.
Stand up for 28 million seniors and people with disabilities by preserving and strengthening Medicare Advantage. Send a letter to your representatives in Washington today!
