Americans share what they love about Medicare Advantage with Representative Lizzie Fletcher’s staff

In February, our Texas Coalition members participated in a meeting with multiple staff members from Rep. Lizzie Fletcher’s office. During the meeting, Coalition members noted the positive impact that the Medicare Advantage program has had on their lives. Members shared their favorite features of Medicare Advantage, including everything from comprehensive coverage to fitness programs.

Coalition members weighed in on their personal experiences with Medicare Advantage, specifically emphasizing their satisfaction with the preventive benefits. Medicare Advantage Coalition members Viola, Maryann, and Betty Jo noted that seniors face health care issues at a disproportionate rate, and urged Rep. Fletcher to continue to support the program as it is “an important plan that not only treated the sick but encouraged the healthy.”

During the meeting, Rep. Fletcher’s staff noted her support and commitment to “protecting and defending Medicare Advantage.” Adding to this, Rep. Fletcher’s staff also highlighted her previous recognition as a Medicare Advantage Champion by the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC), a testament to her continued commitment to protecting Texans.

The CMC encourages champions of Medicare Advantage like Rep. Fletcher to continue their defense of the program in Washington. Over 23 million Americans like Viola, Maryann, and Betty Jo rely on the program to ensure better services, better access to care, and better value.
