Americans share why Medicare Advantage works for millions with Senator Bill Cassidy

21 of our Coalition members came together and discussed Medicare Advantage with Sen. Bill Cassidy. They met at a local restaurant in Baton Rouge, where our members shared what they viewed as the best parts of Medicare Advantage.

From preventive care benefits to affordability, our Coalition members took Sen. Cassidy through a deep dive into why Medicare Advantage works for millions of Americans. One of our Coalition members, Carol, shared that the fitness programs her plan delivers help her stay happy and healthy. Another member, Lynn, added that Medicare Advantage is a great health care plan for Americans 65+ who live on limited incomes.

Our Coalition members did a fantastic job giving a comprehensive overview of the program to Sen. Cassidy. They asked him to work with his colleagues in Congress to preserve Medicare Advantage.

Toward the end of the meeting, Sen. Cassidy expressed his support for Medicare Advantage. He told the group that preventive care was very important to him – part of the reason why he joined over 400 other members of Congress in signing on to the bipartisan letter to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in support of Medicare Advantage.

The Coalition for Medicare Choices thanks Senator Cassidy for his support in our efforts to preserve the high quality, affordable health care made available to seniors through Medicare Advantage. Leadership like his will be crucial to protecting the future of the program.
