CMC Advocates Discuss Medicare Advantage with Senior Spectrum Radio

October 28, 2024

Coalition for Medicare Choices spokesperson Brandon Dillon and Medicare Advantage beneficiary Jim Lamb joined the Editor’s Desk with Connie McCullen on Senior Spectrum radio to discuss Medicare Advantage (MA) and the affordable, comprehensive coverage it provides seniors and people with disabilities across the country.

Why it matters: The Coalition for Medicare Choices is a grassroots coalition of 2 million seniors who come together to raise their voices in support of Medicare Advantage.

What they’re saying:

Brandon explained that Medicare Advantage is an increasingly popular option for many seniors, with more than 33 million seniors across the country choosing to access their health care through MA.

For Jim, Medicare Advantage is a trusted resource that provides affordability and peace of mind. He appreciates that plans are flexible and can be tailored to each beneficiary’s individual needs. Jim’s plan includes coverage for dental, vision and hearing services, as well as other valuable supplemental benefits that are not offered in fee-for-service Medicare

“Health is a very personal issue, and one person is totally different than another,” Jim said. “Medicare Advantage provides a lot more options than I had previously in my fee-for-service Medicare plan. This allowed me some flexibility, and I was able to get dental work done and some eye care taken care of.”

The bottom line: Medicare Advantage is a vital part of the Medicare program that delivers better value, better access to care, and better health outcomes for millions of seniors and individuals with disabilities throughout the nation. Seniors are paying close attention to whether policymakers will stand up to protect their MA coverage and care.
