Medicare Advantage Champions: Meeting with Reps. Warren Davidson & Rick Larsen
January 31, 2020
For the past few weeks, Coalition members around the country have mobilized to tell their members of Congress to protect Medicare Advantage. Recently, two of our most active members championed Medicare Advantage in discussions with U.S. representatives Warren Davidson of Ohio and Rick Larsen of Washington.
Our Ohio Coalition member Larry from West Chester met with Rep. Davidson for coffee to discuss Medicare Advantage’s importance to Ohio residents. Today, nearly a Ohioans rely on Medicare Advantage to stay happy and healthy. Larry noted that Medicare Advantage delivers essential preventive care services with no additional cost. This enables millions of Americans just like him to access screenings and fitness programs to maintain their health at a cost they can afford.
Meanwhile, our Coalition member, Ray from Mountlake Terrace, Washington, spoke with Rep. Larsen following a community town hall meeting. Ray shared with Rep. Larsen that Medicare Advantage puts a “big focus on keeping seniors healthy and preventing health care problems from developing” as they age. This helps stop preventable health conditions from developing for him and his wife, who both enjoy the extensive fitness and wellness benefits available through their plans.
Both Representatives have been very supportive of our work to protect and strengthen Medicare Advantage. Rep. Larsen has even signed a bipartisan Medicare Advantage letter of support.
This is a crucial time in Washington, D.C. as the future of Medicare Advantage is being debated. Fortunately, our Coalition members are meeting with their members of Congress and sharing their stories and asking them to protect Medicare Advantage.
