Medicare Advantage deserves officials’ support

My husband and I are on Medicare Advantage. If asked to describe what the program means to us, I’d say “peace of mind.”
My husband and I are on Medicare Advantage. If asked to describe what the program means to us, I’d say “peace of mind.” We’re better off physically and financially with our health plan.
First of all, Medicare Advantage is affordable. Our plan charges virtually nothing in premiums, and we pay just a few dollars to see a doctor or have a prescription filled. Plus, there’s a cap on our out-of-pocket costs every year, so medical bills can’t get out of control, even if one of us were diagnosed with something serious.
As you get older, you pay more attention to maintaining your health. Medicare Advantage helps. For example, our annual checkups are free and we get regular screenings for diabetes, heart disease, and other conditions. Wellness services, including a fitness membership, are also free. Medicare Advantage helps us stay active, so we can be independent for the rest of our lives.
Having this type of support and health care access is important. We’ve become huge believers in Medicare Advantage and want to see our elected leaders in Washington do right by this program. That means investing in it so it gets better and better.
