Coalition Members Meet Virtually with the Office of Representative Green

Three members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) recently met with the office of Representative Al Green (D-TX-09) to share stories about the positive impact Medicare Advantage makes on the lives of seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Coalition member Peggy shared that she is currently on Medicare Advantage and is satisfied with the program. She said Medicare Advantage provides support and care coordination to help her navigate her coverage. Peggy’s Medicare Advantage plan covers her appointment copays, which she appreciates after having to cancel appointments because the co-pays were too expensive before she enrolled. She said Medicare Advantage gives her peace of mind that she can afford her health care costs.

Judith, another Coalition member, said it was her first year on Medicare Advantage and she is still learning about all the benefits she can access. She is thankful that her plan checks in on her and helps her keep up with regular check-ups. Judith said she was able to enroll easily and is grateful for the services provided.

Coalition member C.A. has been on Medicare Advantage for three years and is happy with his coverage. After three years, he said he is still exploring the benefits, because they range from gym memberships to telehealth. He is especially thankful that dental coverage is included. C.A. said it was an easy decision for him to join Medicare Advantage because it is affordable and accessible.

Representative Green’s staff member said, “We understand how important MA is and how seniors rely on it.” She concluded by saying, “Congressman Green believes that everyone should have access to health care, especially seniors.”

The CMC is grateful to the office of Representative Green for meeting with our Coalition members.
