Coalition Members Meet with Representative-elect Miller

January 5, 2023

Two members of the Coalition for Medicare Choices (CMC) met virtually with Representative-elect Max Miller (R-OH-7) and shared their personal experiences with Medicare Advantage and the high-quality, affordable care it provides for Ohio’s seniors and people with disabilities.

Coalition member Marsha kicked off the meeting by thanking Representative-elect Miller for taking the time to hear from his constituents. She said she likes her Medicare Advantage plan’s low premium and the benefits her plan includes, such as SilverSneakers fitness classes. Marsha also spoke about the cost of a recent hospital stay, which was covered at an affordable and reasonable price thanks to her Medicare Advantage plan.

CMC advocate Brook explained that her mother, a senior, has a low premium and great benefits with Medicare Advantage. She contrasted the benefits her mother enjoys with Medicare Advantage to those of her aunt, who does not have added benefits with original Medicare. Brook also talked about how veterans with Medicare Advantage can benefit from the program. As a veteran himself, Representative-elect Miller said veteran’s health care is an important cause to him.

Representative-elect Miller said that he wants to be supportive of Medicare Advantage and the Coalition, asking how he can help. He said he appreciated the Coalition for reaching out and having local constituents share their stories.

The CMC is thankful to Representative-elect Miller for meeting with our Coalition members.
