Medicare Advantage Delivers Stable Health Care to Americans

More than 24 million Americans know they can feel confident that their Medicare Advantage will be there for them – in good times and in bad times.

More than 24 million Americans know they can feel confident that their Medicare Advantage will be there for them – in good times and in bad times. They rely on the stability that Medicare Advantage delivers, and trust that their health insurance providers are ready to step-in if a health concern needs to be addressed.

Medicare Advantage’s stable health care gives Americans 65+ and people with disabilities peace of mind, medically and financially. Some Medicare Advantage plans include dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, and more at no extra cost. This allows Americans to get the care services they need at a cost they can afford. Below are some instances when Medicare Advantage’s stable health care has worked for our Coalition members:

For many, Medicare Advantage plans are proactive, reaching out and checking in with members. Angela Harris  from Ohio regularly receives calls from her Medicare Specialist to address all her health concerns. When she experienced problems with her eyes, they were there to step in quickly before Angela’s condition could get worse.

For Pedro Rivera in Florida, Medicare Advantage makes him feel confident that if anything were to happen he doesn’t have to worry about his health care costs. Even more importantly, he knows that the burden won’t fall on his wife, either.

While Americans can prepare for the worst, unfortunate events can still happen. That’s when a stable health care partner like Medicare Advantage really shines. When Virginia’s Frank Little was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, his only worry was getting better, not the cost of his care. Frank knew his Medicare Advantage would take care of him and cover the costs needed to recover.

Today, as our nation faces the COVID-19 crisis, Medicare Advantage plans are committed to delivering stable health care. Working together with the entire health care system to overcome the disease, health insurance providers are removing barriers to high-quality health services that Americans 65+ deserve. Steps like waiving patient cost sharing for testing and treatment, covering telemedicine visits with health care providers, and making sure prescription refills are accessible are just some of the many ways Medicare Advantage plans are bringing peace of mind to millions.

Without question, 2020 is shaping up as a historic year as the nation works to defeat and overcome COVID-19. For Americans 65+ who are at high risk, having access to stable health care is more important now than ever.
