As a farmer, I make a living working with my hands. My health is critical to my ability to do my job.

Because health is a top priority for me, I also have come to be aware of the programs and policies that keep my community members feeling their best. For seniors in Alabama, Medicare Advantage is that solution. Medicare Advantage coverage offers great benefits like capping out-of-pocket costs and providing access to numerous quality-of-life benefits. Seniors enjoy these great services and many more for low monthly copays, allowing retirees to keep more money in their pockets.

Across the country, 30 million Americans enjoy access to affordable and high-quality health care thanks to their Medicare Advantage plans.

I have heard from many folks in the community that signing up for a Medicare Advantage plan is one of the best things you can do when you turn 65. Unfortunately, billions in cuts have been proposed which could make many of the benefits suddenly become more expensive or unavailable.

I hope more seniors in Alabama can enjoy the great benefits that come with Medicare Advantage. Cuts to the program will only serve to make health care more difficult to access for seniors across the state.

I hope that our leaders will do the right thing and look out for seniors in Alabama and across the nation
